Yes, being in a good mood is a choice, but it takes effort. For many people it is not simple. So for those of us, and our boyfriends, who need a reminder; I list things that may help to temporarily improve our mental state.


All it takes is 5 minutes looking after yourself to be reminded there is someone who truly understands and cares. Taking time for self care will also prove helpful to others.

Here are some ideas to get you started:

Take a deep breath in...
and breath out
Go out for some fresh air
Wash your face and moisturise 
Do some stretches
Make yourself a soothing hot chocolate
Brush and braid your hair
Give yourself a hug
Write a journal entry
Call your Mum or a friend
Watch an ASMR video
Doodle or colour
Listen to music
Clean your desk or another small area
Read 1 chapter
Down a large glass of water
Cuddle with your cat
Take a quick nap
Scroll through Instagram feeds such as @minimaliving 
Take a deep breath in...
and breath out.
